Some of our recent Happy Tails!!

Wanted to let every body know how Danke the Wonderdobe is doing!! If our dobie people remember, many chipped in to pay for her transport from the Cayman islands to our rescue. Here she is pictured with her "brother" Tahoe playing in the rain at her foster mommy's house!! Danke is truly doing wonderful. She may be a senior, but she is in fact the loudest and most rambunctious Doberman in her foster home. She LOVES to play and run around, she has great muscular definition now and is so happy these days. We couldn't imagine she would bounce back this well when we got her.
Danke is now adopted by a retired couple in Oakland Park. They love and adore her every day, she is the perfect fit for them and she loves them both very much.

Carl- Adopted as puppy, Returned as an adult- ADOPTED AS ADULT!! :)

Carl- adopted in December 2010 as a puppy was returned because the family had had a change in home arrangements and the home could no longer tend to his high energy needs. He was quickly adopted by a family who LOVES AND ADORES him and all his hyper-ness!!

Recovered Scabies Pups- Adopted!

Since when has scabies been so cute?!

"Idk about this man...That's a long jump..."

Sarcoptic mange puppies Blondie and Rocky came into the rescue in May, they took about a month to recover and afterwards looked just like new. They're both in adoptive homes now!

Special Case Adoption!

New Arrival: Skip - severely injured pup MDAS

Skip, after the clinic staff put two casts on his back legs for the night.
This little puppy, now "Chep", was brought into MDAS in a cardboard box just before 8:00 p.m on May 25th, 2011. while the shelter was closing down & the vets had already left. A woman said she'd found him and left the box on the counter, the staff opened the box and pulled him out to do a physical exam, upon which they were shocked to discover that his back hind legs were completely degloved (skin was removed), all ligaments, muscle and bone were exposed. On the end of his tail, the bone was also completely exposed.

A few of the staff members stayed until 10:30 p.m. to take care of him and wrap his legs up and administer pain meds to ease this boy's suffering. A staff member took Cheppe home to keep watch on him, and has taken him home each night since. He now officially belongs to our rescue and will definitely be one of the more memorable recovery tales of 2011.

**UPDATE** Cheppe was adopted in late August and is the pampered prince of his house, and his legs are healing so well. He no longer needs bandages, and though he will never be able to regrow the pads on his back feet, he walks just like normal.
